Freshies goes Hollywood

Freshies goes Hollywood
By Jessant J. Deblois

UPHL’s Acquaintance Party 2009 was a night when all fondest dreams come true, a night to remember and a night celebrated for studious and hard working Nursing Freshmen students who transformed into dazzling gents and ladies. Students seemed to be excited about the event because it was an enthralling event made just for them, wearing formal and elegant attires.

This year’s theme is, “Unraveling the world of fame”. The event was held at UPHL Performing Arts Theater and was facilitated and organized by SBO Officers.
The chairman for this year’s acquaintance party was SBO Vice-President for External Affairs, Ms. Krislly Mae H. Santiago and of course with the support of their adviser Mr. Roderic Noriega. One of the objectives of the party is to welcome the freshmen and to establish close ties between students, faculty and administrators. The Master of Ceremony was Ms. Barbara Eden Pagilagan and Mr. Ferdinand Gonzales.

Students were reasonably particular about their best apparel, as well as the teachers who were very dedicated for their sophisticated production numbers.
Finally, the momentous day came. The event was commenced with an opening number from selected students, and then Mrs. Estrella A. San Juan, Dean of the College of Nursing opened the event and delivered her speech.

After the opening remarks, a few stunning and gorgeous representatives from each freshman section were chosen to imitate box office Hollywood films as a healthy competition. The winners were Mary Grace O. Mercado from section G and Imae M. Mayo from section D. Later, the crowd witnessed the first Oath taking of Caduceus staff with their supportive Technical Adviser Mr. Ryan James Baliza. A production number was performed by energetic Clinical instructors and Basic Education Professors, who definitely rocked the house with their moves and prowess. Keeping the party alive, two popular dance groups, namely, Law of Motion and Hectics, performed and showcased their invincible talents.

In every Hollywood gathering there’s an awarding ceremony where judges select gents and ladies who outshined the rest. The winner for Face of the Night Male Category is Kiel Rivera from section E, and for the Female Category we have Erika Jane Reyes from section G. Ralph Obaldo from section A was awarded Best Dressed Award for Male Category, while Catherine Selerio from section A won the Best Dressed award for the Female Category.

After the students left the scene, the only thing we can surely bring are memories. Memories filled with anticipation and friendship that we have established, especially the time we’ve shared with one another.
The glamour of being a Hollywood star for that night may fade but the memories can’t be taken away from the stars within.

Define it!

Happiness is really hard to delineate. It depends on the person how he or she will define it. Perhaps no one can define it completely. (You try)

Happiness is not just after the money that you currently having now and it’s not about the material things that you want.

For me the real gist of it is how you make others happy and you’re close relationship to God.

Why do we have to squabble with this anyway?
Actually happiness depends on how a person views it. But we can point out or choose what can make us happy.

The pit day ever

Honestly I’m not in the doldrums today; I don’t want to converse with anybody. I just want to be alone. Again I want to screw myself for being dim-witted. I’m dejected; it’s because of my grade in our last demo for bed bath. It’s my very first time to get a grade of line of seven in our return demonstration; I really can’t understand why this happened. I did the same thing in perineal care for male client and I passed it, perhaps I’m the highest in our group. But then I botched it on doing in a female client. Help me comprehend how these things happened? I was indeed in a state of melancholy.

isang patapong telepono.
